Come out to New Center Park for its summer-long entertainment series with weekly movie nights, theatre performances and more! All events at New Center Park are FREE and open to the public, making for a fun-filled, unforgettable summer. Don't miss the chance to enjoy great films, outdoor theatre, or a simple afternoon picnic with family and friends in this unique green space.

For film nights, doors open at 8:00PM, and films screen around 9:00PM. Times vary based on sunset.


New Center Park, owned and operated by Midtown Detroit, Inc., is a unique green space located on the southwest corner of Second Avenue and West Grand Boulevard across from the Fisher Building. The park presents free movie screenings, theatrical performances, and more every year from June through August. The park is open from 8:00AM until dusk on weekdays as weather permits through October 15. Movies and special events are scheduled for evenings throughout the summer.

New Center Park has a licensed bar and grill so please observe no outside food or drink, smoking, or pets during events. For a full list of food items offered at the Park, click here. We invite you to bring your own lunch before 3:00PM during the week--after this time, no outside food is allowed. Bring a picnic blanket and lawn chair or use the chairs provided by the Park.

PLEASE NOTE:  Only service dogs are allowed at the park.
